Community Service Worker
A career as a Community Service Worker puts you at the centre of meaningful change — working with individuals and families as they navigate complex situations, connect with resources, and move forward in their lives. It’s work that involves listening, guiding, and helping people find the help they need.
The Academy of Learning’s Community Service Worker diploma program is designed to help you step into that role with confidence. You’ll build an understanding of mental health and addictions, family dynamics and the experiences of at-risk populations, while learning how to support people through thoughtful communication, case management and ethical decision-making.
You’ll also apply what you’ve learned through a field placement in a community setting, helping you understand how your role fits into a professional environment and build confidence before you graduate.
Upon graduation, you’ll be prepared to move into roles across community agencies, residential care facilities, youth centres and outreach programs. You’ll be supporting people one-on-one, helping coordinate access to services, or working alongside a team to help individuals connect with housing, community programs, and other support services.
